I’f give zero stars. I had one broken tension spring. I informed the company that I had one broken tension spring. The company scheduled a same day appointment but failed to advise me that the company policy is to replace two tension springs at the same time. While i am well aware that is the recommended procedure within the industry, I had one tension spring replaced a few years back and it still has much life in it. Had the company advised me that they would not replace one tension spring only, as I needed, I would not have had them come out. And I wouldn’t have incurred a $79 service charge. When I chatted back to complain, the operator said she would forward my information to a manager. Nobody contacted me. This is why I recommend Overhead Door.

I had a broken spring and repairman told me I needed to replace cable, gears, opener all for $1600. Didn't want to just repair spring. He started out at $1000, went to $1600 and then $1584 for a BIG military discount. Would replace spring for $500. Called another company and got it done for $280. Felt like I was ripped off for a $79 service when all he did was tell me I needed the whole thing replaced. Wouldn't recommend.

Brackets installed back wards , cables frayed, system wound incorrect. These statements were what your service person/salesmen put in his report. The minute he saw my new easy wind system he immediately stated I should get rid of it and buy a new system from Precision. I let him know this is a brand new opener and door and asked him to just re-attach the cables. He looked at everything and said it was installed incorrect and again stated I should buy a new spring system. He then stated he didn't feel comfortable repairing it. I said ok and the service call payment was made. After they left, I got on my computer and verified the install is correct on my system and I read on how to re-attach the cables and found only one small fray on one cable. I reattached both cables and slowly used my drill to wind the springs. The door works perfect. I will never use your service again or refer anyone to use it. You sent me a salesman not a repair man and I will be putting up a notice on our community site as well, plus I will be sending a report to the BBB.

The estimate was two to three times over the other estimates. I can’t justify the cost for the work needed to repair my garage door. I wouldn’t recommend Precision doors to anyone.

I am sorry to hear that you were not satisified with your free service. We do not repair the type of system that you have , which we had discussed in emails before we came to your home and diagnosed your problem at no charge. We feel that the only long term solution is to replace your system with a torsion system that is gauranteed for as long as you are in your home. I am happy to hear that you were able to get your system repaired by another company , as we were not the correct company for you.

Got a quote similar to others. Except lower service call but (supposedly) better cables. My first clue should have been when the service man said "let me see what we got and I'll give you a price" I thought I already got a price on the phone to replace two cables. By the time he is done it went from $130 (phone quote) to over $250. I told him to pack up and go. Then the negotiating started. I said do it for the $130 or leave. He said Ok but no warrantee. Really? $90 cables and no warrentee? Go away. Charged me the $30 service call. I got Hostetler (a local dealer not a national chain) fixed it charged me the agreed in price, done! I recommend avoiding these national chains. They work on commission. And Hostetler said the last guy dorked something up. The guy who charged me $30.

We are sorry to hear that you were not happy with your service. Many times once our technicians have looked at a job , it is more intensive than what had been anticipated over the telephone. Our equipment, such as cables, is manufactured for us and is of a higher quality than most on the market. Our technicians offer three options to choose from when quoting a repair , from a good option to a better option and finally the best option. Each will have a different type of warranty and of course different parts and labor. If our office had heard from you , we would have attempted to address your concerns. We hope you are happy with the repair you received from Hostetler . Thank you for trying us.

Total rip off the estimate give to me was way off the hook I was able to get my garage door repaired with fraction of the least expensive estimate given to me. I'm glad I went for 2nd opinion and saved myself from big rip off.

Precision Door is more interested in selling you a new opener rather than fixing what you have. The tech that came assumed I was gullible and gave me a "scare story" on how much a repair would cost. Needless to say I called another repair service and got it repaired for a fraction of what Precision wanted. I wonder how many people have been taken advantage of by these tactics.
